when jack was younger he was never allowed to leave the house unless given specific instructions by his mother (always called mother anything informal was unacceptable to them), if he was later than the time he was expeted back, even by a minute, he would be severely told off and punished by his siblings and mother

their mother used to go away a lot on 'business trips' (most likely something to do with cults or knives idk) and when this happens valantine is put incharge of the house
around this specific trip jack had made a friend and had planned to meet him on this day using the excuse their mother had rang them to ask jack to get shopping, valantine believes this and lets him go, but when he goes to check on lilly, she expresses that she had just been out to get the shopping
valantine waits until they are all at the table before asking jack where he went and when he gets no response or obvious lies he freaks out, because hes a evil eccentric guy he decides the best way to get to jack is to angrily walk across the table to talk to him
lilly just watches she just wants to have some soup


also i kinda wanted to add that lilly and valantine arent albino (because hair and eyes) but they are mildly sensitive to sun and just tend to stay inside till its a bit darker  


i have a problem with using the same colour pallets over and over smh
